We Continue to Champion Voting Rights and to fight voter suppression
  • Led a successful county-wide voter registration campaign
  • Voting information postcards mailed to county voters and unregistered eligible voters
  • Phone banking and outreach to unregistered voters
  • Formed a coalition with the League of Women Voters for Voter Registration
  • Supported local Juneteenth Celebrations with onsite voter registration
  • Provided door-to-door Voter Registration and onsite event voter registration
  • Continue to fight voter suppression
We Continue to Champion Education
  • Fight for all students of color to receive a quality public education.
  • Meet with local education administrators and advocate for educational success
  • Sponsor young men to attend the Men of Color Summit annually
  • Provide 4 Book Awards to High School Graduates annually
  • Facilitated a partnership with Pickens County School District and Clemson Littlejohn
  • Community Center to become a partner in after school feeding of county students
  • Facilitated a partnership with Pickens County School District and Clemson Littlejohn
  • Community Center to implement the TRIO Program in all of the county High Schools
  • Supported Clearview Simpson Heritage Foundation Mentoring Program
  • Attend school board meetings and advocate against book banning and censorship of
  • diverse materials and curriculum and submit testimony to state legislators and at state
  • legislative hearings. Joined lawsuit against school district book banning and censorship.
We Continue to Champion Social Justice Issues
  • Provided housing stability services through United Way grant
  • Worked with Divine Purpose Outreach Ministry in securing property from the City of Easley
  • Sponsored Policing forums to discuss and address community policing concerns
  • Communicate with local and county law enforcement on issues of importance to the community
  • Supported and provided advocacy for the Clemson Hate Intimidation Ordinance
  • Branch President Shelia Crawford was the speaker and a panelist for the African
  • American Heritage Event in Pickens, SC.
  • Participated in 2023 State Freedom Fund Celebration in Columbia
  • Branch President Crawford was one of four Speakers at the 2023 State Conference
  • NAACP Direct Action Pray Rally at the Capital in Columbia, SC
  • We Continue to Champion Access to Health Care
  • Fight for quality, affordable health care for all people.
  • Sponsored pop-up Covid testing clinics in the county
  • Provided Covid testing and safety information
We Continue to Champion Pickens County Branch Stewardship
  • Maintain compliance with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored
  • People and South Carlina Conference of NAACP, including payment of all assessments in good standing
  • Increased NAACP Life Memberships
  • Branch officers and members participate in continuing training through the National Office
  • Receive the NAACP National President Award for Membership
